Carolina Marín, born on June 15, 1993, is a Spanish badminton player recognized as one of the greatest in the sport. She is an Olympic Champion, a three-time World Champion, and an eight-time European Champion, having dominated the women’s singles division. Marín made history by becoming the first non-Asian female to win an Olympic badminton gold medal in 2016, further solidifying her position as a trailblazer in badminton. She is the only player to win at least seven gold medals in a single discipline of any continental championship, having claimed every European Championship title since 2014, including a European Games title in 2023.
